The Coffs Harbour Australian Naval Cadets are now the proud owners of two safety boats. In a special ceremony on Saturday 18th May 2013, held at the TS Vendetta unit on the Jetty Foreshores, the safety boats were blessed and dedicated to former members of the unit.
DGIW District 53, VW Bro Phil Robertson attended the ceremony on behalf of the Coffs Coast Freemasons Association who had donated $1600 towards the purchase of the boats. The CCFA had previously purchased a quad bike for the unit.
The Can Do Cancer Trust held its third annual Rottnest Channel Swim at the Coffs Harbour Memorial Swimming Pool on Saturday 9th March 2013 aided by members of the Coffs Coast Freemasons Association. CCFA members were kept busy cooking and serving at the BBQ while other CCFA members had the important job of counting laps to ascertain which team swam the most laps. The winners’ trophies were awarded to HTW Valuations who swam 42 laps in the Main Lane and HQB Blue who swam 37 laps in the Community Lane. A total of $6,444.40 was raised on the day plus a $5000 MASONICARE Interaction Grant which brought the grand total to $11,444.40. All proceeds generated will go to assist patients attending the North Coast Cancer Institute.
